Dr. Jennifer N. Bird- Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Jennifer Bird was born and raised in Katy, Texas, and has always wanted to be an eye doctor. Her goal was to return to her home town to serve friends and neighbors in the community. Dr. Bird and her husband opened Bird’s Eye View Optometry in 2012.
After graduating from Taylor High School, she attended Texas State University where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Bird received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry.
After completing her didactic courses, Dr. Bird interned at the Navy Hospital in San Diego and at the Eye Center of Texas, a large group ophthalmology/optometry practice, here in Houston. Dr. Bird is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
In addition to Dr. Bird’s continuing education, she is a participating member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association and Harris County Optometric Society.
Dr. Bird enjoys spending time with her husband and baby, Kate Monroe, when she is not at the office. She also enjoys training for marathons and entertaining friends and family.

Dr. Tiffanie Childs- Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Tiffanie Childs is a native Houstonian from Sugar Land, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree at Texas State University and obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2007. Dr. Childs then completed a 12 month residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Specialists in Denver, Colorado where she specialized in co-management of cataract surgery and LASIK surgery patients. Dr. Childs is also part time attending faculty at the University Eye Institute for the College of Optometry.
Ranna Nikmard- Optician/Frame Stylist
Ranna is from Katy and is a graduate from Taylor High School. She later went on to graduate from Baylor University with a Bachelors degree in psychology. From a very young age she has had an “EYE” for fashion and a love for helping others. Ranna previously worked in a retail boutique setting, which has given her the opportunity to offer a unique one-on-one shopping experience in a medical setting. She looks forward to styling you with the perfect pair of glasses that best fits your needs and lifestyle.

Carmen Kwan – Insurance/Front Desk Liason/Optician
Carmen graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2006 and California State University Long Beach with a Master’s degree in Counseling in 2008. She formerly worked in schools as a counselor and another optometry office. Carmen is understanding of a family’s optometric needs, whether fitting a child’s first pair of glasses or helping a person with a new pair of progressives. Additionally, Carmen is knowledgeable about vision and medical insurances, so if you have a question about coverage, she will find the answer for you.

Chrystal Ellison – Frame Style Manager and Buyer
Fashion is constantly changing and Chrystal knows what’s hot and what’s not. She is a Houston native, a loving wife, and caring mother to her son, Clay. Chrystal does her research on the ever changing trends of the optical world and keeps our frames current. She meets with our frame representatives on a monthly basis to rid our boards of frames that are no longer current and purchases the most up-to-date product for our patients. She is also educated in lens materials and will make sure you are seeing through the best lenses for your lifestyle.
Dr. Marc Bird
Dr. Marc Bird (the other doctor) married Dr. Jennifer Bird on November 14th 2009. Marc is not only her husband, but also her business partner. He is a professional engineer and like Dr. Bird received his doctorate (of philosophy) from the University of Houston in Materials Engineering. Marc is continuing his career as a materials scientist, for Baker Hughes Inc., where he is attempting to develop novel super abrasive materials for the oil gas industry. Aside from publishing fundamental research and normal home improvement duties, you may see Marc working out of Dr. Bird’s office, at the front desk or assisting Dr. Bird. Marc enjoys all spectator sports and running the various trails throughout Houston with his wife and daughter.
